Pathogenic variants of E. coli (pathovars or pathotypes) cause much morbidity and mortality worldwide due to they have low infectious doses and are transmitted through ubiquitous mediums, including food and water.

The BioPerfectus E. coli Pathotyping (5) Real Time PCR Kit is an in vitro diagnostic test, based on multiplexed real-time PCR technology, for the detection of DNA from the Enterohaemorrhagic Escherichia coli(E. coli) (EHEC), Enterotoxigenic E. coli (ETEC), Enteroinvasive E. coli (EIEC), Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC), Enteroaggregative E. coli (EAEC). Specimens can be obtained from human stool.
